The President of Chile, Sebastián Piñera, recently toured the extension of Metro Line 5. Seven new stations are scheduled to open early in 2011. President Piñera also announced that the government is already working on new lines 3 and 6 of the subway system that will link the north of the capital and the districts of Providencia and Vitacura, respectively.
